Kartik Vijay (ISC), started his creative journey with a BFA in Applied arts and quickly graduated to cinematography at The Los Angeles Film School.
He’s been mentored by John Bailey, ASC – President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Patrick Cady, ASC and Micheal Barrett, ASC.
An independent cinematographer for almost 21 years now, he has lensed 14 feature films, over 450 commercials and short films over the years. Some of them have showcased and won awards at The Busan Films Festival, The Fribourg International Film Festival, The Udine Far East Film Festival 2023, The Golden Horse Film Festival 2019, The Cannes Film Festival 2018, The Tribeca Film Festival, The Sundance Film Festival and The Cannes Lions for advertising.
He has been nominated 4 times for the ‘Best Cinematography’ award at The Golden Horse Film Festival (‘The Oscars of the East’). His work in The Garden of Evening Mists also showcased at Energa Camerimage 2019, the world’s premier festival for cinematography. His work in ‘Manto’ was also nominated for ‘Cinematography’ at the Filmfare Awards 2019 – one of India’s leading film awards.
He currently lives in Bombay, India but works across the world.
